Privacy policy
Your clips never leave your Mac.
Last updated 19 October 2026. This policy covers the Clipket app for macOS and this website.
The short version
- Everything Clipket records stays on your Mac. We never receive your clips.
- The app has no analytics, no telemetry and no crash-reporting service.
- This website has no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts.
- Payments are handled by Polar, who act as the merchant of record.
What the app stores
Clipket stores the clips it records — text, links, images, screenshots, file references and the text recognised inside images — in a database in your Mac's Application Support folder. Text recognition and the optional AI features run on your Mac using Apple's frameworks. Clipket does not record copies made in password managers, and it hides content that looks like a password, card number or key.
What the app sends, and to whom
Clipket makes only these network requests:
- Licence checks, to Polar. When you activate, and periodically after, Clipket sends Polar your licence key, your Mac's name (so you can tell your Macs apart in the customer portal), a one-way hash of your Mac's hardware identifier, the Clipket version and the macOS version. No clips are ever included.
- Update checks, to downloads.clipket.tech. Clipket asks whether a newer version exists. The request includes the app version and no personal information.
- Website icons, only if you turn them on. Clipket can show a website's icon next to a copied link. This is off by default (Settings › Privacy › Link Icons); when on, Clipket requests the icon from that website, which tells it a link to it was copied.
- iCloud sync, only if you turn it on. Clips then travel through your own private iCloud database, which we cannot access. Clips marked sensitive never sync.
If something goes wrong, Clipket may offer to send us a crash report. Nothing is sent unless you choose to, and you can see the exact report before you do.
This website
This site sets no cookies and loads no analytics, fonts or scripts from anyone else. Like any website, it is served by a hosting provider (Cloudflare), which processes requests — including your IP address — to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
Payments
When you buy Clipket, Polar Software Inc. processes your payment and your billing details as merchant of record, under Polar's privacy policy. We receive your email address and order details so we can deliver and support your licence.
Your choices
You can delete any clip, or your whole history, from inside Clipket. Uninstalling Clipket and deleting its folder in Application Support removes everything it stored. To access or delete the purchase details we hold, email erxconnect@gmail.com.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Clipket will never start sending your clips anywhere.
